World Missions
Based on the command Jesus gave us in the Great Commission, our desire is to make disciples of Jesus among all nations or people groups. We specifically want to reach those to whom the Gospel has not been available. This includes people right here in Dothan and in the surrounding Wiregrass area. It also includes unreached people in other cities and towns in the US as well as people all over the globe.
We are also passionate about developing an increased awareness of local outreach opportunities and global needs. The purpose of the Missions and Outreach Team is to reinforce to every believer, every follower of Jesus the calling to go and make disciples. We do this by being willing to share the Good News of the Gospel, by being equipped and aware, and also by meeting practical needs of the homeless, the hungry, and the least resourced in our community.
Short-term Mission Trips
We believe short-term mission trips are an effective way to spread the love of Christ, and experiencing the mission field firsthand can be a life-changing experience. We offer opportunities for members to go on both overseas and stateside mission trips.
Contact the missions office to learn more about short-term mission trips.
World Missions Conference
Each February our church hosts our Annual World Missions Conference where we hear directly from some of our missionaries about their work in the mission field. This conference keeps the cause of missions and needs of our missionaries top of mind and reminds us to pray, give, go, and celebrate what Christ is doing throughout the world.
Missions Secretary
Mission’s efforts is to share Christ’s love through both local and global outreach. This role inspires and equips the congregation to live out their faith by serving others and making disciples.
Proclaiming Christ to the Nations
Missions Committee
The committee seeks to do this by praying regularly for our missionaries, bringing their needs before the congregation, hosting our yearly missions conference, and offering short term-mission trips.
We support world missions in two ways: we give approximately 25% of our church budget to local and foreign missions, and we give through “faith-promise giving,” giving over and above our regular giving to the church while trusting God to provide resources for world missions.
