The Elusiveness of Contentment

June 30, 2024

Book: Psalms

Scripture: Psalm 131

What do we gravitate toward instead of contentment? In our own strength, we quickly fall into anxiety and/or indifference–contentment’s replacements. These arise out of our flesh when preoccupied and fixated on ourselves. But when we discover that our hope comes from God and we fix our hearts and minds on him, we will have confidence, courage, and patience as we walk in relationship with our Heavenly Father. This contentment does not arise out of what our Father can give us; rather, it arises because of the love experienced between us and Him.
